Neelam Temporarily Shuttered by Health Dept.

Neelam Exotic Indian Restaurant received an "Unsatisfactory" mark during a Health Department inspection conducted on Friday.

Violations of the New Jersey Food Code were recorded in the following areas:

• Cooked chicken breasts found out of temperature on a shelf.

• Poor sanitary procedures. 

• Improper and inadequate food handling, food preparation, and temperature control.

• Failure to have a certified food manager on site. 

Summonses will be issued by the Health Department. The restaurant will be closed until further notice.
