Police Blotter: BMW Stolen from Repair Shop

Wednesday, August 12:

Theft of Bicycles

Two mountain bikes were stolen from the backyard of a Warren Court home in the early morning. The thief entered by opening the fence.

Theft from Vehicle

Between $5 and $10 in change was taken overnight from an unlocked vehicle parked in a Ralston Avenue driveway.

Burglary to Auto

A GPS device and its charger and a pair of binoculars were taken overnight from an unlocked black 2003 Ford Escort parked in the driveway in the backyard of a Fielding Court home. Entry was gained through an unlocked front passenger door.

Burglary to Auto

Two GPS devices, valued at $250 each, and six CDs were taken overnight from a black 2000 Honda Accord parked in the driveway of a Park Place home. Entry was gained through an unlocked door.

Friday, August 14:

Warrant Arrest

Officer Stephen Dolinac stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Scotland Road and Montrose Ave. shortly after midnight after learning that its registered owner had a suspended driver's license and outstanding warrants. The driver identified himself as a friend of the car's owner but was unable to produce documentation. A comparison of digital driver's license photos revealed that the driver of the car was in fact the registered owner. Steven Lamour, 24, of East Orange, was arrested for outstanding warrants and charged with Volunteering False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer. 

Saturday, August 15:

Warrant Arrest

A Little Ferry resident was arrested for an outstanding warrant after the vehicle he was operating was stopped by Sgt. Hugh Ames. The traffic stop occurred when Sgt. Ames encountered the vehicle double parked with its engine running on Cottage Street. A computer check revealed that the driver, Ji Seo, 30, had a suspended driver's license and an outstanding warrant.

Burglary to Auto

The owner of a 2007 Toyota RAV 4 reported that someone broke into the vehicle between Aug. 9 and Aug. 15 while it was parked on University Court. An iPod and a GPS device were stolen from inside. 

Stolen Auto

A green 1994 BMW 740 parked inside the repair bay of All Star Motors on Valley Street was stolen overnight on Friday. The keys were inside, and there were no license plates on the car, which was recovered later Saturday morning by state police.
