Police Blotter: Burglary Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the South Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Marckenle Pierre, 23, of Union and Yues Desiri, 25, of Irvington were arrested on September 23 at approximately 2 p.m. at the Rite Aid on South Orange Ave. The two were caught attempting to purchase gift cards with stolen credit card numbers. Both individuals were arrested by responding Officers as they attempted to flee the scene. The subjects had previously made other illegal purchases at the store and were identified by store personnel when they attempted the fraud again.
  • The owner of the R. S. Asian Market, located on Irvington Ave. stated that sometime during the night of September 23, someone had gained entry into his establishment by breaking the front window with a brick. Once inside the store the person(s) removed cash from the register and three packs of scratch off lottery tickets.
  • Two juveniles were arrested on September 25 at approximately 11:30 a.m. at the Pathmark Supermarket. The juveniles, both female, were observed placing a large amount of seafood into their personal bags.
  • Three juveniles were arrested on September 26 at approximately 1 p.m. for trespassing after a neighboring resident observed the three on the rear porch of a vacant residence on Stonehill Rd.. The resident notified police headquarters and Officers responded to the scene and placed all three individuals under arrest after located them in the rear of the property.
  • A South Orange resident reported that on September 28 between 9-10 a.m., his vehicle (2010 Subaru), which was parked on Vose Avenue was broken into and several items, including a laptop computer, camera, a GPS and briefcase were stolen. The vehicle did not receive any damage from the incident.
  • A West Orange resident reported that at approximately 5 a.m. on September 29, he was robbed at gunpoint while he was parking his vehicle in the NJ Transit Lot located behind the main train station. The robber is described as a 6'1'-6'2" black male, 20-25 years old, wearing blue jeans and a dark, zippered, hooded sweatshirt. Among the items stolen were the victim's wallet, cash, a cell phone and other personal items. It appears the robber was also going to steal the victim's vehicle (2007 Jeep), but was thwarted by the vehicle's manual transmission. The robber then fled the scene in what was described as an older style 4-door Ford Taurus, burgundy in color. The vehicle was driven by another person (no description available).
  • Officers responded to an activated alarm at University News, located on Irvington Ave., at approximately 5:30 a.m. on October 1. The officers discovered the establishment had been broken into. The robber(s) had forced open the front door by prying same. Once inside the establishment the robber(s) removed lottery tickets, cigars and cigarettes along with approximately $200 in cash.
  • On October 2, at approximately 10:25 p.m., Officers responded to the Montrose School located on Clark St. after an alarm was activated. Upon doing so, the officers discovered that some unknown person(s) had attempted to gain entry through a rear window. The person(s) however, were unable to gain entry as the window was blocked by interior furniture.
  • A resident of an apartment complex, located at 354 South Orange Ave., stated that on October 3 at approximately 10:30 p.m., she heard noises inside her apartment. The victim stated that when she went to investigate she discovered her roommate's bedroom window open and several items inside the room had been moved around. No items were believed to be stolen.
