Police Blotter: Car Stolen on Charlton Ave.

The rash of burglaries to cars in the vicinity of Ridgewood Road and Wyoming Avenue continues.

Thursday, Oct. 8:

  • A Harding Drive resident awoke at 4 a.m. and heard his car's horn being honked. He looked out the window and saw that his red 2008 Acura's lights were on, and an individual was walking into his neighbor's yard. An officer responded, and no items were reported missing, and there was no sign of forced entry. However, upon looking again at 9 a.m., the man reported that his PDA was gone. 
  • A Tillou Road resident reported that a black 2006 BMW 330 parked in the driveway was burglarized, and the car's manual, registration and insurance card were taken.
  • A Tillou Road resident reported that a car parked in the home's driveway was broken into and rifled through overnight, but nothing was reported missing.

Friday, Oct. 9:

  • Shortly after 6:30 a.m., an officer responded to Pathmark on Valley Street on the report of a fire. On arrival, the officer found that a small electrical fire in the front of the store had already extinguished itself. The scene was turned over to the fire department, which worked to abate a smoke condition.
  • A North Wyoming Avenue resident reported that her car was burglarized while parked in her driveway overnight. A change purse was taken from the arm rest compartment.

  • A white 2002 Subaru parked on Charlton Avenue was stolen overnight. Inside the car was a Canon digital SLR camera and a tripod.
