Police Blotter: Multiple Noise Complaints Last Weekend

Police broke up three Seton Hall parties over the weekend.

Friday, Aug. 28:

  • A Clark Street resident reported hearing someone open his car door in his driveway and seeing a black male around 6 feet tall wearing a long white T-shirt and baseball cap leaning into the vehicle. The man then fled in the direction of Montrose Avenue, and the resident also reported having heard him singing loudly as he walked down the street every night that week.

Saturday, Aug. 29:

  • Just before 2 a.m., police broke up a party in an apartment on North Ridgewood Road, where loud music could be heard from 20 feet away. The tenant, a Seton Hall student, was issued a summons.
  • Shortly before midnight, police responded to a call about a loud party on Arnold Terrace, where about 50 Seton Hall students were gathered. The leaseholder was issued a summons, and she directed her guests to leave.
  • Three Yodock water barriers were stolen from the main entrance to the SOPAC driveway overnight on Friday.

  • Shortly after midnight on Saturday night, police responded to a home on Seton Place, where about 30 Seton Hall students were gathered and loud music and yelling could be heard. The tenant was issued a noise violation, and the guests departed.
  • A man reported that his maroon 2002 Jeep Liberty's rear driver-side tinted window had been broken with a quarter-sized hole while parked on Milligan Place on Sunday afternoon. No entry was gained, and nothing was reported stolen.
