Police Blotter: Saturday Night DWI
An Orange woman was charged with a DWI after a police officer spotted her driving without her headlights on.
Tuesday, Feb. 2:
- A vehicle caught fire in a Ralston Avenue driveway at about 8:30 a.m. The South Orange Rescue Squad responded to extinguish the flame.
Saturday, Feb. 6:
- An officer on patrol at about 8:20 p.m. noticed a car traveling west on South Orange Avenue with no headlights on before it pulled to the curb at 525 South Orange Ave. and then out again to make a U-turn. After the officer watched the car go through a red light at South Orange Ave. and Center St., he activated his sirens and pulled the car over. The driver—later identified as Lacey Gary, 57, of Orange—subsequently failed field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest, charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, driving without headlights and failure to stop, and then released.

- A passenger van was reported stolen from the JESPY House parking lot. Its keys could also not be located.
