Police Blotter: Stolen Generator, False Police Report
The following arrest information was supplied by the South Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

- A Garfield Place resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours of November 3, an unknown person(s) had entered her vehicle (2006 Chevy) and removed her daughter's backpack containing personal items including a gold ring and necklace.
- A Sinclair Terrace resident stated that sometime between 6 p.m. on November 3 and 5 p.m. on November 4, an unknown person(s) had entered the victim's home via an unlocked first floor side window. The person(s) had placed a lawn chair under the window to gain entry. Once inside the home the person(s) ransacked several bedrooms removing a laptop and an undetermined amount of jewelry.
- A Speir Drive resident stated that sometime between 4 p.m. on November 4 and 5 p.m. on November 5, an unknown person(s) had removed a 5000 watt Husky brand gas generator from the driveway of her residence.
- Taylor Bromberg, an 18 year old Manalapan resident and Seton Hall University student, was arrested on November 6 at approximately 2 a.m. and charged with filing a false police report. The subject informed authorities that while walking back from a party to campus with another individual in the area of Tichenor and Irvington Avenue, she was robbed at gun point. The detective assigned to the case was able to determine that the alleged incident did not take place and was in fact fabricated. As a result, the subject was subsequently charged for the offense and processed accordingly before being released.
- A 1999 Nissan Altima reported stolen out of Newark was recovered after Officers responded to the scene of a vehicular crash on Marion Ave on November 7. The vehicle stuck a parked vehicle and two occupants of said vehicle were observed fleeing the scene. The driver and passenger exiting the stolen vehicle were described as two young black males.
- Neal Desmond, an 18 year old East Orange resident, was arrested on November 8 at approximately 1:10 a.m. after officers conducting a field interview and motor vehicle stop of the above subject found same to be in possession of an illegal weapon (knife). Two residents notified Police that they felt they were possibly being targeted as victims by a group of individuals that were following them as they walked on South Orange Avenue in the area of Fairview Avenue. The residents stated that one of the men, described as a black male wearing an army jacket and hood over his head, attempted to get them to stop by calling out to them. When the residents continued to walk, the man, who was accompanied by three other individuals (one male and two females), crossed the street following them. An officer patrolling the immediate area observed the group and when doing so, the group then ran to a parked vehicle (2006 Toy Seq color silver) on Fairview Avenue. The officer followed the vehicle and stopped same with other responding Officers on Sloan Street. During the field interview and inquiry, the officers discovered the illegal weapon in the vehicle which was being operated by the above subject. The subject was arrested and processed accordingly. The investigation is continuing at this time.
