Police Blotter: Two Auto Thefts
An Audi with 25 BlackBerries stored inside was stolen from a Radel Terrace driveway.
Sunday, Nov. 8:
- A Ward Place resident reported his beige 2000 Dodge Intrepid stolen from his driveway.
Tuesday, Nov. 10:
- A 15-year-old male from Newark was arrested for trying to break into a parked vehicle on Varsity Road at around 11 p.m. The victim reported observing two males dressed in dark clothing breaking into his vehicle, and they fled on foot when he approached. A short time later, Det. Steven Davenport noticed the juvenile emerge from a yard on South Orange Avenue and detained him for further investigation. The juvenile was positively identified by the victim and taken into custody.

- A store on Village Plaza reported 65 Star-Ledgers missing from where they should have been delivered in front of the store.
Friday, Nov. 13:
- A silver 2004 Audi A8 was reported stolen from a Radel Terrace driveway. The officer who responded to the scene spotted broken glass on the driveway, and the person reporting the incident said that the vehicle was locked and contained 25 BlackBerry 8900 cell phones valued at $400 each. The registered address for the car is in Newark, Del.
