Police Blotter: Two More Arrests From SOPAC Fight

The following arrest information was provide by the South Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • A realtor stated that sometime between Jan. 5 and Jan. 10, someone entered a vacant house on Berkeley Avenue that is on the market and removed copper piping from the basement.  The person gained entry into the home by breaking a rear basement window.

  • Patricia DeSantis, a 43 year old Union resident, was arrested on Jan. 10, at approximately 2:20 p.m.  DeSantis was spotted, by a resident from Ralston Avenue, walking up the resident’s driveway and onto her porch where she began to open a package.  The resident contacted the police and officers were able to respond to the home and arrest DeSantis as she attempted to flee the area.

  • A 16 year old resident of West Orange was arrested on Jan. 11, at approximately 5:20 p.m., after an investigation conducted by the detective bureau revealed that the teen was part of the fight that .  The juvenile was processed accordingly and released.

  • A 17 year old resident from Hillside was arrested on Jan. 12, at approximately 11 a.m., after detectives determined that he was involved in the disturbance at the SOPAC mentioned above. The subject was processed accordingly and released.

  • On Jan. 12, at approximately 2:45 p.m., detectives were checking a vacant house on Grove Terrace and discovered that someone had pushed in a front basement window and gained entry to the home.  Once inside, the person preceded to remove copper piping from the basement.  Detectives also discovered the rear Bilco doors leading to the basement were open, as well as an interior basement door.

  • Dionna Wong, a 35 year old East Orange resident, was arrested on Jan. 12, at approximately 3:50 p.m., after he was found to be in violation of a restraining order issued out of the Superior court in Newark.
