Police Blotter: Warrant Arrests, Robberies
The following arrest information was supplied by the South Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

- Peter Kean, a 62 year old South Orange resident, was arrested on November 14 at approximately 11:15 p.m. after officers responded to a report that a vehicle was stopped in the middle of Hamilton Road and obstructing traffic. Upon arrival, officers discovered the Kean lying in the street next to the driver's side door, which was ajar. After being interviewed, it was determined that Kean was in fact intoxicated and as a result was arrested at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters.
- Phyllis Smith, a 44 year old Newark resident, was arrested on November 15 at approximately 7 p.m. for shoplifting from Rite Aid after she attempted to flee the premises after having concealed merchandise in a tote bag. A detective stopped Smith after she entered an awaiting vehicle in the parking lot.
- A Tichenor Avenue resident stated that on November 16, at approximately 11:30 p.m., as she was entering her vehicle, she saw two suspicious looking individuals across the street observing her. The resident, also a Seton Hall University student, stated that she heard one of the individuals say "I need your money" but was uncertain if they were speaking to each other as they crossed the street in her direction. The resident stated that approximately 15 minutes later, she reported the suspicious nature of the incident to Seton Hall University Security. One individual is described as a black male, in his mid 20's, approximately 6'3" in height, and was observed wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The second individual is described as a black male, in his mid 20's, with braids and was observed to be wearing a green hat.
- Karen Schley, a 49 year old West Orange resident, was arrested on November 16 at approximately 4:30 p.m. after detectives were able to determine that she was the individual that and removed prescription drugs from the private residence.
- A Newark resident stated that on November 16, at approximately 5:41 p.m., that he was robbed at gun point by two unknown males after he exited a N.J. Transit bus on South Orange Avenue at Grove Park. The victim stated that one of the men placed what he believed to be a gun in his side and demanded his money. The victim stated that he gave the men his cash and they fled the scene on foot through Grove Park. The victim stated that he then walked through the center of town until he reached the fire department on Sloan Street at which time he reported the incident. One man is being described as a dark skinned black male, 6'0" in height, a full beard, and short dreadlocks and was wearing a full length black leather trench coat. The second man is described as a Hispanic male, 5'8" in height and was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey jeans.
- Raphael Samigullin, a 51 year old West Caldwell resident, was arrested on November 16 at approximately 3:45 a.m. on an outstanding warrant issued out of Morristown after officers responded to the area of Sloan Street due to a report of a suspicious male. When the officers did a background check, it was determined that an outstanding warrant existed for the subject. The subject was arrested at the scene without incident and processed accordingly.
