Police Seeking Stolen S.O. Jaguar Reportedly Used in Newark Hit-and-Run
The black four-door 2010 Jaguar was reported stolen on Thursday.
Authorities are seeking a black four-door 2010 Jaguar with license plate YKW-59M reported stolen from South Orange that was allegedly driven in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Newark.
At noon on Thursday, Newark Police responded to 72 Mt. Vernon Place, where they discovered the body of a pedestrian—identified as Jacques Abour, 74, of Newark—suffering from multiple injuries. He was taken to University Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
Anyone with information about the Jaguar—reported stolen earlier on Thursday—or the incident should contact the Newark Police Department or Det. Robert Parsons of the Essex County Prosecutor's Vehicular Homicide Unit at 973-395-3495.
