Suspects in both incidents were arrested by police.

A robbery took place last Sunday morning, when two people walking in the area of W. Montrose Ave. and Vose Ave. reported being accosted by five to six males, who assaulted them, took a cell phone and some clothing, and fled toward Scotland Road. South Orange police responded to the area, and Sgt. Michael Corrigan observed two male juveniles matching the description given walking north on Scotland Road toward Orange. As he approached, they fled on foot and ran behind a buliding on Scotland Road. They were apprehended and positively identified by the victims. A third actor, Nadeem Everett, 18, of Orange, was placed under arrest at his home a short time later.

On Thursday, Aug. 20, a resident of South Center Street observed a man removing a screen from his neighbor's window. When he approached, the perpetrator fled on foot toward Varsity Road and was chased by the victim and his neighbor. After a brief struggle, the suspect broke free and ran east on Varsity Road. Police responded to the area, and the man was spotted on Stuyvesant Avenue in Newark by Chief James Chelel, Det. Lt. Mike Bolger and Det. Brian McGuire. The suspect, Charles McCray, 18, of Willingboro, N.J., was positively identified, placed under arrest, and charged with attempted burglary and aggravated assault.
