Security Guard At Seton Hall Says Rock Thrown Into Car Window

A person in a BMW chucked a large rock through the windshield of a car stopped for a red light in South Orange, authorities said.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — A person in a black BMW chucked a large rock through the rear windshield of a car that had stopped for a red light a few blocks away from Seton Hall University last week, authorities said.

According to the South Orange Police Department, the victim – a security guard at the school – is employed by Securitas. He was driving his Nissan Rogue and stopped at a red traffic light at South Orange Avenue and Riggs Place around 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 7.

That’s when an unknown person in a black BMW sedan threw a large stone through the rear window of his car, police said.

The black BMW then fled the scene and headed east on South Orange Avenue. Police searched the area but didn’t locate the alleged rock thrower, authorities stated.
