Seton Hall Student Mugged on Monday

The student reported being assaulted and robbed near Riggs Place and South Orange Ave. at about 10:20 p.m.

Members of the Seton Hall community were informed via e-mail from the Department of Public Safety on Tuesday that a student reported being assaulted and robbed in the area of Riggs Place and South Orange Ave. on Monday at 10:20 p.m.

The student said he was walking toward downtown South Orange from campus when a man approached and tried to rob him. A struggle ensued when two other individuals joined in the attack, robbing the student of $20 in cash before fleeing on foot towards the center of town. The victim wasn't injured and returned to campus to report the robbery.

He described one suspect as a black male wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. The other two suspects were also described as wearing dark hoodies, one 5’8” tall and the other 6’2” tall.
