Seton Hall Students Arrested After Filing False Robbery Report: South Orange Police

The two students allegedly reported that a cell phone robbery took place on the Seton Hall campus, police say.

South Orange, NJ – South Orange police arrested two Seton Hall University students on Friday for allegedly reporting a fake robbery on campus, authorities said.

According to the South Orange Police Department, Nicole Morris, 18, and Alexandra Garcia, 18, falsely reported that a cell phone robbery took place on the Seton Hall campus on Thursday.

“The false report resulted in several alerts being generated and a police response which not only resulted in an immediate and swift course of action by officers, but also a detective bureau response that was unnecessary and wasteful,” police stated.

No suspect was arrested as a result of the report, according to the South Orange Police Department.

Police charged Morris and Garcia with making a false police report. Both were assigned court dates, authorities stated.
