SETON HALL UNIVERSITY LIVE TEST OF EMERGENCY SIREN AND PIRATE ALERT SYSTEMS

Test will take place on Wednesday, September 30

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (Sept. 17, 2015) — On Wednesday, September 30 at noon, Seton Hall University will conduct a live test of its emergency siren system. The system is designed to alert the campus community of an emergency situation that requires them to seek shelter indoors for their safety. The siren is centrally located on the highest point on campus, will sound a wail tone that is followed by a recorded message with instructions to seek shelter. A steady tone will sound with an “all clear” recorded message at the end of the live test.

The system is tested silently on a regular basis and a “live” test is conducted twice a year — once in the fall semester and once again in the spring semester in order to familiarize the campus community with the sound of the siren.
