SHU Public Relations program honors Professor Terri McAdoo with Mentor Award

Terri McAdoo Honored with 8th Annual Alumni Mentoring Award
Seton Hall University’s Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) has selected published author, professor and journalist Terri McAdoo, as the 2015 recipient of its coveted ROPE in Success Award.
The award will be presented to McAdoo at the ROPE in Success Event at 6:30 pm on Thursday, April 7 in the University’s Chancellor’s Suite in Seton Hall’s University Center at 400 South Orange Avenue, South Orange, NJ.
Named after the four components of a successful Public Relations campaign (Research, Objectives, Programming and Evaluation), the annual award acknowledges one exceptional tri-state area professional who has mentored and supported Seton Hall University public relations students, interns and graduates.
McAdoo is an award-winning newspaper and television reporter and has been writing and editing for more than 18 years. She specializes in employee communications and public relations/marketing programs for the pharmaceutical, research and development, biotechnology, consumer products, data management, order fulfillment and transportation industries. McAdoo was also named “Journalist of the Year” by the New Jersey Press Association.
McAdoo’s commitment to Seton Hall has been just as impactful as any of her other ventures. Since 2003, McAdoo has served as an adjunct professor of promotional writing at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J.
McAdoo’s approach to writing is passed down to the students she teaches and mentors every year. “Whatever the size, whatever the scope, I strive to tell a creative, compelling story that will engage readers and make them take action,” said McAdoo on her website, tmcadoo.com.
