Solicitation Scam Alert Sent to Local Businesses
According to Seton Hall, an entity calling itself "Student Relations, Inc." has been approaching businesses and churches about buying ads for a calendar.
Seton Hall has alerted the community to a solicitation scam, in which an entity calling itself "Student Relations, Inc." from Delray Beach, Fla., is urging local businesses and churches to purchase advertising space in a calendar it falsely claims is being published for the university.
However, Seton Hall has no such contract or arrangement with the company.
According to an e-mail circulated by Main Street South Orange, "(Seton Hall believes) this group initiates the interaction by first calling and then following-up by fax trying to sell advertising space on the calendar at a 'reduced' rate."
