South Orange BOYS Basketball Tryouts
Boys with reside in South Orange ONLY are eligible to tryout for each of the following teams ~ Grades 5 & 6 ~ Grade 7 ~ Grade 8
The South Orange Recreation Department sponsors basketball teams that travel and compete in the Suburban Essex League. The league is comprised of teams representing nearby towns. Teams are formed based on results of competitive tryouts. After tryouts, practices are held 2-4 times per week until the start of the season. Thereafter, the teams play 2 games per week and have 1-2 practices per week, on average. Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging transportation to and from games and practices and may be asked to assist with the program in other ways. The seasons ends mid to late February.
Registration fee: $150-$17 due upon selection to the team.
The BOYS Suburban Basketball League rules require that ALL PLAYERS be residents of sponsoring town. South Orange residents who wish to play MUST tryout for the SOUTH ORANGE team REGARDLESS of where they attend school.

All tryouts take place in the South Orange Middle School Gym.
Players are expected to attend BOTH scheduled tryouts.

5th & 6th grade boys;
Monday Oct 20 AND Wednesday Oct 22 6:00-7:30pm
7th grade boys;
Tuesday Oct 21 AND Thursday Oct 23 6:00-7:30pm
8th grade boys;
Monday Oct 20 AND Wednesday Oct 22 7:30-9:00pm
