South Orange Container Day Set For June 20: What To Know
Residents can drop off bulk household items at the DPW facility from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; tires and electronics excluded.
SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — South Orange will hold a Container Day on Saturday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., giving residents the chance to drop off large bulk household items at the DPW Facility and Recycling Center, 300 Walton Ave. The last car will be allowed in the gate at 1:30 p.m.
Tires, electronics, hazardous waste and construction material are excluded and will not be accepted.
Commercial vehicles are not permitted to enter the facility, including U-Hauls, Home Depot rental vehicles and any vehicles with commercial plates. Proof of residency may be requested.

The remaining 2026 Container Days are scheduled for July 25, Aug. 22 and Sept. 19. Residents can check the calendar at southorange.org for details and updates.
