South Orange Man’s Dog Alerts Him About Garage Burglary: Cops

A South Orange man's barking dog alerted him about a garage burglary earlier this week, police say.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — A South Orange man’s barking dog alerted him to a garage burglary earlier this week, police say.

According to the South Orange Police Department, a Halsey Place resident told officers that his dog began barking around 5:55 a.m. on Tuesday. When he went to investigate what was making his pet bark, the man found that someone burglarized his garage.

Police said that a Ryobi brand leaf blower and battery pack was stolen during the incident. Authorities are investigating the theft.
