South Orange-Maplewood Teachers Reach 'Tentative Agreement' With BOE For New Contracts
South Orange and Maplewood's teachers will start off the school year with contracts, the teacher's union announced.

South Orange and Maplewood’s teachers will start off the school year with contracts.
On Tuesday morning, the South Orange-Maplewood Education Association announced that its members had reached a ”tentative agreement” with the Board of Education.
“We will work to establish salary guides within the next couple of weeks,” the union announced on its website.

The teachers’ previous contract called for a 4.25 percent salary increase from July of 2013 to June of 2015.
Prior to that labor agreement, the district’s teachers had gone two years without a contract.
