South Orange Police Blotter: Burglaries, Drug Arrest

The following arrest information was provide by the South Orange Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • A Seton Hall University student stated that on Jan. 17, between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., someone opened his gym back, which was in an unlocked locker and removed his wallet.

  • A Kingsland Terrace resident said that sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 12:40 p.m., on Jan. 17, someone entered his home and removed three laptops, a bicycle, and jewelry.  The person is believed to have gained entry into the home through a rear basement window under the deck of the house.  The rear basement screen had been cut and removed.

  • Elijah Loyal, an 18 year old Newark resident, was arrested on Jan. 17, at approximately 7:20 p.m.  An officer on routine patrol observed Loyal parked in a vehicle on Sloan Street in an illegal parking space.  When the officer approached, he found Loyal with possession of marijuana and arrested him.

  • Idris Terry, a 22 year old Newark resident, was arrested on Jan. 19 at approximately 2:10 a.m. after an o saw Terry swerving on South Orange Avenue.  Terry was unable to properly identify himself and when he did, it was discovered that he had two outstanding warrants issued for his arrest.
