South Orange Police Blotter: Outstanding Warrant Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the South Orange police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

  • Jermain Rogers, a 38 year old Elizabeth resident, was arrested on Feb. 21, at 11:05 p.m. after officers observed Rogers acting suspiciously toward people walking by him on Sloan St.   While the officers questioned Rogers, they realized that Rogers had an outstanding warrant issued for his arrest out of Elizabeth.  

  • Matthew Valentine, a 42 year old Newark resident, was arrested on Feb. 22, at approximately 11 p.m., after an officer observed Valentine soliciting individuals for money while on Sloan St.  When officers spoke with Valentine, they realized that he had an outstanding warrant issued for his arrest by the Essex County Sheriff's Department for a parole violation.

  • The manager of Carvel said that on Feb. 23, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a black male, approximately 6"0" in height and in his late teens fled the store with an ice cream cake after failing to pay for it.

  • A resident of East Clark St. contacted the South Orange Police Department on Feb. 23, at approximately 6:25 p.m., after a resident reported a suspicious 2002 Subaru parked on the street.  The resident said that he saw a young black male exit the vehicle and enter an awaiting small black vehicle with a spoiler on the back.  During the investigation, it was discovered that the Subaru had been reported stolen out of Garfield.
