South Orange Police Warn Local Merchants About Counterfeit Bill Surge
South Orange police are warning local business owners about several recent alleged attempts to pass off counterfeit bills.

South Orange, NJ – South Orange police are warning local business owners about several recent alleged attempts to pass off counterfeit bills.
According to the South Orange police blotter for Dec. 25 to Jan. 8, there have been “attempts to pass counterfeit $20, $50 and $100 bills in local establishments.”
“Merchants should take all possible measures to determine especially large bills that they are in fact authentic,” police stated. “Merchants and or residents should contact the police department as quickly as possible in order to aid the officers in conducting an on-scene investigation of the suspected fraudulent activity.”
