South Orange, Maplewood Students Hold Walkouts To Protest Trump Inauguration

The North Jersey students conducted organized walkouts in protest of President Donald Trump's inauguration, reports say.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Students at two Essex County schools conducted organized walkouts on Friday afternoon in protest of President Donald Trump’s inauguration, reports say.

A large group of South Orange Middle School students began protesting inside the hallways around 12:15 p.m., left the building chanting "love not hate,” then gathered at the front of the building where they stayed chanting until returning to class around 2:15 p.m., TAP Into SOMA stated.

An earlier walkout also occurred today at Columbia High School in Maplewood at about 11:30 a.m., according to TAP Into.
