South Orange Symphony Announces Family Concert
The "Winter Carnival" theme debuts Sunday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. at South Orange Middle School.

The South Orange Symphony continues its 67th season, presenting a free, family-friendly “Winter Carnival” theme on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m. in the auditorium of South Orange Middle School, located at 70 North Ridgewood Rd. The program is designed to appeal to adults and youngsters alike with music by Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Shostakovich and selections from “Star Wars” by John Williams. Children will have a chance to visit a musical instrument petting zoo as well as the opportunity to dance along to the waltz from Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty” ballet. The orchestra’s annual silent auction fundraiser will also take place.
The South Orange Symphony, now under the direction of Susan Haig of Summit, N.J., has been making music and presenting free concerts since 1949. Interested attendees are encouraged to visit the South Orange Symphony website or contact southorangesym@aol.com for further information.
