Before the main performance begins, arrive early for the Museum’s Jazz Fans Early Connect Hour — a golden‑hour gathering where our jazz community settles in, sets up, and savors the moment together:
  • Connect with fellow jazz fans as the deck fills with conversation, familiar faces, and rising evening energy
  • Explore the Morris Museum — including indoor galleries (when available) and the outdoor exhibition spaces that surround the Back Deck experience
  • Create your own elevated deck setup with your favorite lawn chairs, small tables, and the beautiful spreads guests love to bring — wine, cheese, shared bites, and the company of friends
  • Enjoy the golden‑hour sunset as the museum’s architecture, outdoor installations, and the sky shift into evening
  • Raise a summer‑sunset toast to the season, the music, and the community gathered on the deck

Juno Award–winning trumpeter, vocalist, and songwriter Bria Skonberg is a 10× DownBeat Rising Star, recipient of the Legend Award from the Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook, and a 2025 “Academie du Jazz” nominee.Called the “shining hope of hot jazz” (NY Times) and “one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” (WSJ), Bria brings virtuosity, charm, and rhythmic spark to every stage. Her Back Deck performance is a summer highlight — spirited, stylish, and alive with the energy of jazz’s past, present, and future.
