The Week That Was in South Orange
Celebrate South Orange is set for Saturday, June 12, from 1 to 8 p.m., rain or shine.
On Monday, we wrote about South Orange's two new solar garbage compactors, a motorcycle accident from the previous night when a suspect was charged with eluding police, and the SOMA Artists Studio Tour. We had a story on South Orange native Stacey Kent, who's releasing her first all-French language record and a report on a teen dating abuse class at CHS. We also learned that Neelam had been closed by the Health Department after failing an inspection.
On Tuesday, we reported on a school-clearing bomb threat at Columbia High School and a three-week photography showcase that CHS students participated in at Pingry School.
On Wednesday, we had an analysis on the first year of the Super Essex Conference in local high school sports and a feature on how different local elementary schools deal with the phenomenon of Silly Bandz. We also had an announcement that the community pool will open on Saturday, June 19.
