Columbia Weekly Sports Wrap Up

David McCombs placed fifth in the Super Essex Conference Championship American Division meet on Tuesday, coming in at 16:49.4. Will Spangler's 12th place finish helped propel the boys cross country team to a third place finish.

The Cougar girls picked up their second win of the season, defeating Governor Livingston 1-0. Jane Mousseau scored the only goal of the game for Columbia, while Mary Grace Cobbs picked up 14 saves. The Cougars are 2-11-1.

Girls Soccer

Margot Kleinberg scored two goals and assisted three times in three games this past week, helping the Cougars win two and improve to 5-6-1. However, the girls were eliminated from the Essex County Tournament in a 2-0 loss to Glen Ridge on Saturday.

Girls Tennis

A 4-1 win over Cranford this past week improved Columbia's record to 5-13 overall. Cougar second singles starter, Olivia Baker, is 9-7 this season.

Girls Cross Country

The Cougar girls took fifth overall in the SEC championship American Division meet on Tuesday. Anna Van Zeijts led the way for the girls, taking 13th place with a time of 20:52.7
