Two Brothers Arrested in S.O. Marijuana Bust
Seventeen pounds of marijuana were seized outside of a Holland Road residence, but the homeowners aren't implicated in the crime.
In a joint effort by detectives from the Essex County Sheriff's Office's Bureau of Narcotics, United States Postal Inspectors and South Orange police officers, 17 pounds of marijuana were seized after being delivered to two suspects outside of 160 Holland Road last Thursday.
Upon taking possession of two Home Depot shipping boxes, Alphanso Chisholm, 28, and his brother Omar Chisholm, 25, both of Irvington, were placed under arrest. The shipping packages contained spackle buckets, which were used to hide marijuana with an estimated street value of $80,000.
The residents of 160 Holland Road are not involved with the drug delivery and were not charged with a crime. The Chisholm brothers were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate New Jersey's narcotics laws.
