SOUTH ORANGE/MAPLEWOOD COMMUNITY COALITION ON RACE CELEBRATES THE TWO TOWNS, ONE BOOK SERIES FEATURING DAVID TROUTT'S, THE PRICE OF PARADI

Maplewood, NJ (October 10, 2014) – The South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race, a nationally recognized non-profit organization committed to building a unique, suburban community that is free of racial segregation in housing patterns and community involvement, will host its Two Towns, One Book Series, featuring David Troutt’s, The Price of Paradise: The Costs of Inequality and a Vision for a More Equitable America, taking place Wednesday, November 19thth, 2014, 7:30pm at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Rd., Maplewood, New Jersey.

The Price of Paradise promises to speak directly to the concerns of residents in communities like ours—older diverse suburbs with tax stresses, concerns about schools, and aging infrastructures that threaten the American dream and the viability of stable integration. It is a passionate call for strategies to create a more unified America in which Troutt envisions regional equity policies and practices that will serve to undo metropolitan inequities that can be seen in urban centers and their greater suburbs across the country.
