Watch USA Play In The World Cup At South Orange's Free Juneteenth Bash
Meadowland Park hosts two matches on a jumbo screen, plus cultural programming, a beer garden and a free kids' soccer clinic.
SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — South Orange will combine World Cup fever with Juneteenth festivities at a free community celebration in Meadowland Park on Friday, June 19, running from 1:30 to 8 p.m.
The watch party by the Baird Community Center will screen two FIFA World Cup matches on a jumbo LED screen: the United States vs. Australia at 3 p.m., followed by Scotland vs. Morocco at 6 p.m.
The day opens at 1:30 p.m. with a community drum circle led by Yahaya Kamate and a free youth soccer clinic for students in grades 2-6, led by the Columbia High School girls soccer team and head coach Mateo Green. Welcome remarks, speeches and community readings follow at 2:30 p.m. before the first match.

The event, hosted by South Orange Recreation and Cultural Affairs, also features Juneteenth cultural programming, food trucks, family-friendly soccer activities and a beer garden hosted by the Meadowland Park Conservancy. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, family and friends.
