Win for South Orange Summer Swim Team

On Wednesday night at Gero Park in Millburn, the South Orange Dolphins defeated the home team Millburn summer swim squad, 224-212, improving their record to 2-1 early on this season. The South Orange swimmers jumped to an early lead and never looked back in this one.

The locals were led by the Antiles and the Duvvuri siblings, who combined for 15 first-place finishes in the meet, to help lead their team to the 12-point victory. Venkatesh Duvvuri was just a touch out away from making it 16 first place finishes total, though he picked up two gold medals anyway.

The locals won more relays this meet than they had earlier in the week, when they suffered their first loss of the season. On Thursday, they came away with wins in the 12u girls medley relay (Grace Hut, Gabriella Engersgaard, Jessica Antiles, Marie Fagen: 1:18.86), 12u girls freestyle (Spencer Pierce, Fagen, Haley White, Maya Bryant: 1:06.18) and 12u boys freestyle (Mike Antiles, Danny McHuigan, Avinash Duvvuri, Wesley Wade: 1:09.25).

The 8-and-under girls gave the locals a great boost on Thursday, taking top three finishes in both the back and breaststrokes.
