Being a Columbia High School graduate prepared the young star well.  The member of the Class of ’87 had a winding road to stardom after graduating from the University of Maryland and pursuing her graduates at NYU.  However, a comedy class must have struck a note as she quickly fell in love with the language of laughter.  It wouldn't be long until she hit the laughpot.

"It was when I did a show with Jerry Seinfeld that I really got star struck for the first time," admits Kirson.

She also went on to mention some really good shows with Robin Williams and other big acts that helped build her confidence in the early years.

Kirson has produced, taught, and performed all over the world for many years, but growing up in South Orange instilled her with some key values.

"The people around here are honest, diverse, and real,” Kirson said.  “They are everyday people who just make you smile.  Characters you want to remember and share."

Kirson always refers to herself as a New Jersey girl.  She never let “the business overrule the purpose.”  While exploring the world of the rich and famous, Kirson has retained every ounce of that genuine hometown attitude.

"I am excited!” exclaimed Kirson, when talking about performing at home.  “It’s gonna be a really awesome night!"

Filters are not functioning on Saturday in South Orange, so audience members should be ready for some real honest fun with a real honest person.

Kirson appears at SOAPC this Saturday and for a sneak preview of her act, readers should search for the “Jessy K Show” on youtube.com.
