As You Wish: South Orange Bids Summer Movie Nights Farewell

The village wrapped up its Wednesday night events with a movie, Dolly Parton singalong and gratitude for a memorable summer.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — South Orange closed the curtain on its Wednesday night summer series with The Princess Bride, music and a final evening under the stars.

Before the movie began, the crowd joined a singalong of “9 to 5,” offering what organizers called “a pretty perfect South Orange tribute” to Dolly Parton. DJ Lou supplied the music before showtime, while the League of Women Voters helped residents prepare for November’s election.

Organizers also thanked recreation staff, the Meadowland Park Conservancy and SOPAC for making the season possible.
