Afternoon Quiet Broken By Morris Ave. Fistfight

Today's altercation outside Food King sends one to the hospital—the other to court

A tipster observed several police cars and a Springfield EMS ambulance at the Food King parking lot about 1 p.m. this afternoon, and Patch followed up on the story.

We're not sure how it started, but we do know how it ended—with Springfield resident Andrew Bellino, 18, arrested for simple assault and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, according to Detective Judd Levenson, the Public Information Officer for the police department.

The altercation that took place on Morris Avenue, near the Food King, happened to be witnessed by a police officer. He broke up the fight but not before Bellino allegedly landed several punches to his victim's nose, according to Detective Levenson.
