Students were then returned to their classrooms as per recommendation from police.

"While this threat lacked credibility, the District will never take any threat lightly. For this reason, the District has been and will remain vigilant in ensuring the safety of our students and staff by implementing a number of safety measures to ensure a swift and appropriate response to such a threat, including drills, trainings and local and county police approved protocols," Davino wrote on the district's Facebook page.

"We are happy to report that all of the District's efforts were exemplified in how today's situation was handled," Davino continued. "To help prevent future disruptions to our learning environment, the District will continue to work with the Police Department to help identify the offenders and hold them fully responsible for their actions."
