Clean Communities 2013: A beautiful day to clean up the rivers and parks in Springfield

Keep Springfield Clean!  Springfield Clean Communities 2013 cleanup is this Sunday, April 21, from 12pm to 4pm.   Rain or Shine, come anytime! Meet us at the DPW Garage at noon to find out which areas need to be cleaned and receive supplies.  Let's all help Springfield be a little cleaner/greener this year! Last year we had many volunteers helping to clean up rivers and parks.  High schoolers, this is a great way for you to earn volunteer hours and be outside.

Please share with your neighbors!  Hope to see you there.

If you would like to learn how to make a rain barrel for your home, come to a workshop on Monday, June 3, 2013  at 10:00am- 11:30am at the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum in Short Hills. Rain Barrels allow for collection and storage of rain water . Rain water can be used for gardening, lawn watering, and more. Rain barrels also serve environmental purposes. An interactive discussion led by a CHA educator. Fee: Free to Arboretum members; $10 for non-members.
