Kevin Smith to Review “Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the...Part 5"

"Comic Book Men" Creator Kevin Smith Agrees To Review Indie Film For $10,000 Charitable Donation

Well, the answer is finally in from the folks over at View Askew/Smodco, Kevin Smith’s film, production and distribution company. "Comic Book Men" creator Mr. Smith will be reviewing our film and he’ll be donating the $10,000 to The Wayne Foundation, a non-profit organization he created with Jamie Walton to help put an end to child slavery and human trafficking.

Kevin Smith will be reviewing the film sometime in April/May.  There is no firm date yet but what is firm is that he’ll be critiquing the picture with his vast background in the world of movies and television.

Mr. Smith often makes references in his films to other movies and TV shows, so our movie should be right up his alley.  “Night of the Day of the Dawn…Part 5” is a parody of the golden age of television and takes a look at what was considered enjoyable TV fare in the 1950s and 1960s and what’s considered enjoyable TV fare today.

To explore this topic we took two episodes from two of the best loved shows from the 1960’s, “Bonanza” and “The Andy Griffith Show”, wiped out there soundtracks, and re-dubbed them with updated dialogue and situations more suitable to today’s disturbed and jaded TV audience.   When you look at where TV has gone, from “Father Knows Best” and “Leave It To Beaver” to “Jersey Shore” and “Keeping Up With The Kardahians”, you know a strange and unfortunate metamorphosis has occurred.  The film is a New Jersey grown endeavor, directed by Jim Riffel and The Stormy Weather Lighthouse Foundation and produced by Mark Zobian.  It stars the physically striking "Insectavora."

I’ll know more about the date of the review very soon and, as always, I’ll keep you posted.  And you can check out the great charity, The Wayne Foundation, at www.the-waynefoundation.org
