Springfield Board of Ed Accepts Resignation Of Jonathan Dayton Athletic Director

Salerno, who joined the district in July 2024, is the second Dayton AD to leave in as many years.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Jonathan Dayton High School is searching for its third athletic director in three years after Anthony Salerno announced his resignation, effective at the end of the 2025-26 school year.

The Springfield Board of Education approved Salerno's resignation at its May 11 meeting.

Salerno was hired as athletic director two years ago at a salary of $115,000, assuming the role July 1, 2024.

His departure marks the second change in the position in as many years. Former Union High School athletic director Linda Ionta served as interim athletic director at Jonathan Dayton during the 2023-24 school year, filling the role after Lance Jacobs left to become athletic director at Delaware Valley Regional High School in Hunterdon County.
