New Jersey Filmmakers Offer Kevin Smith $10,000 to Review Their Feature Film
A group of New Jersey filmmakers have offered Kevin Smith $10,000 to review their feature film.
Okay, so all the celebrities that we’ve offered our movie to have turned us down. It’s an impressive list of rejections that includes some of the most talented comedy stars in Hollywood. So who are they, you ask? Well, the group includes the following: Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller, Roseanne Barr, Jack Black, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, Judd Apatow, Todd Phillips, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey, Seth MacFarlane, Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Robin Williams, Chris Rock and Ashton Kutcher.
Now since our current mode of operation is not working we’ve decided to change the strategy just a bit. Our usual way of doing this is to offer 5 or 6 or 7 celebrities the $10,000 at the same time and hope one will come forward. Whoever would come forward first would receive the money and the worldwide rights to the movie to sell to any company they wanted as long as they took the money from that sale, along with the initial cash, and donate it all to charity.
Maybe the idea of offering a group of celebrities is throwing things out of whack. So we have a new strategy. We’re only going to offer the film to one star in Hollywoodland. And that person is the legendary New Jersey filmmaker Kevin Smith, director and writer of such hits as Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jersey Girl, and, most recently, Red State. He’s proud of his New Jersey heritage and, since we’re from New Jersey and made our film here maybe he’ll think about it a little more than the other folks we’ve contacted.
