Dayton Principal Welcomes Students Ahead of First Day

All students should arrive by 7:30 a.m. in order to be on time for school.

Jonathan Dayton High School Principal Elizabeth Cresci sent an email Sunday welcoming students ahead of Monday's first day of the 2013-2014 school year.

Cresci wrote that all members of the JDHS community are "very excited" to meet the students and shared information they and their parents need to keep in mind for a smooth opening day.

"We will maintain the two lanes of traffic onto the property for morning drop off," she explained. "Please be reminded that students are to be seated in their Activity Period assignments at 7:40 in order for their attendance to be taken correctly. All students should arrive by 7:30 in order to be on time for school. They are to enter school in the back of the building; if you are driving onto the property, please use the lane closest to the building and drive around to the back.  Those who are parking in the back should use the left lane.

Cresci stated that only seniors who completed and submitted the parking application last week should park on the property. Those seniors whose forms are in order will get their parking spots and corresponding stickers by the end of the day Monday.

"This year, seniors will be in the cafeteria for Activity Period; sophomores and juniors will be in the auditorium; and freshmen will be in classrooms. Students can refer to their schedule on PowerSchool to find the name of the proctor who will take their attendance each day. All students will receive updated schedules on Monday, as we have continued to balance classes throughout last week," she wrote.
