Documentary film Freedom Summer: Mississippi 1964

This film documents the efforts of the 700 student volunteers who helped local African American residents to fight for the civil rights.

This film will be shown on October 8th, at 7:00 pm at the Springfield Public Library.

A copy of this documentary was given to the Springfield Public Library by the National Endowment for the Humanities as a follow up to the library’s participation in the NEH’s “Equal Justice” film and discussion series.
