Temple Sha’arey Shalom Welcomes the Community to its Religious School Open House today, Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9 am -10:30am. Temple Sha’arey Shalom, a mid-size Reform congregation serving Springfield and the surrounding communities of Union and Essex counties, is opening its doors to new families seeking a warm, engaging Jewish learning environment for their children.
Families of prospective students entering grades K-3 in September, 2012 are welcome to come and learn about the Temple’s creative curriculum and registration options. The day includes participation in our magical Shabbat morning family worship service, classroom visits for children and coffee and a nosh for parents as they meet the Director. Cantor Amy Daniels, Education Director, says “Temple Sha’arey Shalom will be offering flexible schedules with a mixture of family activities at various times and days as well as classroom learning to ensure that families receive a valuable spiritual and cultural experience.” The Temple has a reduced dues/tuition structure for new “Young Family” members--whose oldest child has not yet entered third grade--to ensure that the youngest families can join the Temple and enroll their children in Religious School.

About Temple Sha’arey Shalom: Temple Sha’arey Shalom serves children, young adults, singles, seniors, and families of all shapes, ages and sizes--including single parents, interfaith families, and Gay and Lesbian families. In addition to a thriving Pre-School and Religious School, the Temple offers a wide array of educational, informational, entertaining and social programs to enhance the Temple experience, including lectures, workshops, panel discussions, an active Sisterhood and Brotherhood, community-service opportunities and Youth and Renaissance group activities. There are Family Shabbat services at 7:30pm on the first Friday of each month, Children’s Shabbat morning services for K-3rd grade families on Saturdays at 9am, monthly Tot Shabbat services--perfect for pre-school families—at 6:00 pm on the third Friday of each month, and Adult Study minyans on Saturday mornings. Erev Shabbat services take place from the second through the last Friday of each month at 8pm and ALL ARE WELCOME.
