From April 2, 2012 until May 10, 2012, the work of Hanna Keselman will be presented at the Donald B. Palmer Museum in the Springfield Free Public Library. Ms Keselman states that “My main objective in painting is to show the world as it ought to be, bright and beautiful. Most of my work consists of still life paintings in oil, but I have also done some pastels. I love the texture and feel of the oil paint. I am especially interested in reflective surfaces and in the transparency of glass.”
Born in Germany and a resident of the U.S. since 1947, Ms Keselman has taken classes at the NJ center for Visual Arts in Summit, the Art Students League, and privately. Her paintings are in collections in New York City, Panama, Israel, and numerous places in NJ. “The most important part of painting is the process and the action involved in getting to the result.”
The Donald B. Palmer Museum is located in the Springfield Free Public Library, 66 Mountain Ave., Springfield. Hours of the exhibit are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10 am to 8:30 pm and Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm. On Sundays, the Museum is open from 1 pm - 4:30 pm.
