Former Springfield Man Sentenced Again For Having Child Porn

Sam Cynamon, 67, of Monroe and formerly of Springfield will serve 10 years in prison. He previously was convicted of the same crime in 2005.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A former Springfield man was sentenced to prison for the second time on Thursday for possessing images of child sexual abuse, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Sam Cynamon, 67, who now lives in Monroe Township previously pleaded guilty to an indictment charging him with one count of possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In addition to the prison term, Cynamon was sentenced to eight years of supervised release and was ordered to pay restitution of $21,000, because of his prior conviction.

Cynamon had previously pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 27 months in prison in March 2005.

On July 10, 2017, authorities took multiple computers and electronic storage media — which contained multiple images and videos of child pornography, including images of prepubescent children being sexually abused — from his home, according to documents filed in the case and statements made in court.
