Fun On A String: Puppets at The Library

Penny Rapicano brings her puppets to Springfield today.

Penny Rapicano, of Fun on a String Puppets is bringing a with a bag full of fun to the Springfield Public Library this Sunday. She specializes in cabaret style puppetry, a traditional style where the human manipulation is visible to the audience, but because she is in all black your eye focuses on the main puppets.

Her 40-50 minute show is an interactive experience for children and adults of all ages.

"For me, it's a really wonderful event," Rapicano said. "It's a shared memory for kids to share with their parents and it's so nice to see."

Her show consists of rollerblading clowns, flamenco dancers, robots and lots of music. She even has a black light section.

For eleven years Rapicano has performed in libraries, daycare centers, schools, workshops etc. With a degree in Education, she has a full background on how to reach a young audience. As one of the founding members of the NJ Puppets Guild (under the umbrella of Puppeteers of America), Miss Penny brings professionalism, experience, a ton of energy and passion!

The show, presented by the Friends of the Library, starts at 3 p.m., so don't be late.
