Integrity House to Host 2014 Newark Corporate 5K Run
Proceeds Benefit Integrity House, a Non-Profit Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Organization
NEWARK, N.J (September 16, 2014) — Integrity House, a nationally recognized non-profit substance abuse rehabilitation center with locations in Newark and Secaucus, will be hosting its annual Newark Corporate Run to promote awareness of addiction and recognition of necessary services and treatment programs for those suffering from substance abuse on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Participants can register for the 5K online at www.compuscore.com.
Sponsored by PSEG, the Newark Corporate Run will be taking place on the streets of downtown Newark, at Washington Park. Registration for the 5K run begins at 10:30 a.m., with a 12:15 p.m. start time. Runners can sign up in corporate teams or individually. Many major corporations and organizations participate in the run each year including Prudential, McCarter & English, Edison Properties, Budweiser, audible.com and Veteran’s Association. All proceeds from the event will benefit the community outreach programs and treatment facilities at Integrity House, which provides addiction treatment and support services for almost 2,400 adult and adolescent addicts each year.
“The Newark Corporate 5K Run helps us to bring the community together while raising awareness of addiction treatment and recovery services available to help individuals and families affected by this disease,” said Robert J. Budsock, President and CEO of Integrity House. “Last year there were more than 22 million individuals who needed treatment due to substance abuse yet only 2.5 million of those individuals received the proper treatment at a specialized facility. At Integrity House, it is our goal to help individuals who are suffering from substance abuse, and provide them with the opportunity to receive proper treatment, ultimately leading to happier, healthier and more productive lives.”
