SELECTED 1940s CLASSICS - HITCHCOCK AND FILM NOIR
The great Humphrey Bogart stars as an escaped convict, wrongly accused of his wife's murder, who hides out in the apartment of his friend Lauren Bacall while he tries to locate the actual murderer. The film is known for often being shot from the point of view of the main character, with the camera acting as his "eyes." Agnes Moorehead also starred. Directed by Delmar Davies. Admission is free and light refreshments are served at 12:30 pm. Funding for the film program is made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, and by the Friends of the Springfield Public Library.
